December Small Works Show

Hi, all!

To the left is Tom Kidd's painting "Helioderm."

Starting tomorrow, we will have a new exhibit for the month of December. "Small Works for Gift-Giving."

The criteria for the exhibit: Pieces should be 25 United Inches or less--height plus width. The price should $300-350 or less. The pieces don't need to be framed. These are guidelines ONLY! Several pieces will be larger than the specified size; others will be more than $350.

We have over a dozen artists lined up so far.

Featured will be originals in oils, acrylics, watercolor, wood sculpture and photography. Prints will also be available of many of the pieces in the show and also others that are not.

We will also have on display framed antique Salem and Christmas postcards, hand-made tree ornaments and unique giftware.

Christmas Historic House Tour and Sale

Hi!

This coming weekend, December 2 and 3, is the annual Historic Salem House Tour and Sale. NOT the sale of the houses, but a Retail boutique in Old Town Hall where local businesses can strut their stuff. We're one of them!

We'll have holiday giftware and discount custom framing coupons available. Some of our offerings include: hand-made photo-frame Christmas tree ornaments; Holiday and Salem antique framed postcards; local artists' original and print works. I'm going to spend a part of this week designing the ART Corner's table at this affair. We are the FIRST table the visitor will see, and the last as they exit! We must make it SPECIAL!

Salem Open Studios

I have created a new link. See to the left for the link to the Salem Open Studios! The open studios will happen on saturday, December 9, from 10-6. Go for a walk throughout Salem and stop in to see artists at work in their "creating spaces!" For those who work from their "kitchen tables," Old Town Hall is providing space for them to exhibit and do demos.

At the Art Corner, we will have Charles Lang painting a still life or two, and I will do framing demonstrations, including showing how a frame is joined with our underpinner.

Nibblies will be provided!
